Minister of Finance and Economics to Open MultaQa Qatar

Doha , March 13 (QNA) - HE Minister of Economy and Finance Youssuf Hussein Kamal will inaugurate tomorrow the fifth edition of MultaQa Qatar in Al Sharq Village.
The forum will be held on the 14th and the 15th of this month and will offer a platform for notable insurance and risk management executives from across the globe to discuss the industry issues on a regional and a global scale. MultaQa is sponsored by Gulf Reinsurance and is considered one of the leading events in the region for re-investment.
HE the Minister will kick-start the discussions when he talks about insurance in the Gulf countries in a lecture entitled "Economic and insurance industry fundamentals of the GCC: delivering the next phase of accelerated growth". Picking up from the lecture, the speakers will discuss the main issues regarding re-investment in the region with some of the most notable companies in the field.
Other talks will include the Key strategic opportunities and challenges in global re-insurance and Islamic insurance as well as a number of other lectures that are more specific to the Gulf countries such as taking Qatar as a case study in a number of important subjects. Qatar is considered one of the strongest economies in the Middle-East if not the world with an 13.3% real Growth Domestic Product (Real GDP) which surpasses the growth of China which is recorded at 9%. The country also has the highest GDP per Capita in the world.
Attending MultQa Qatar is through invitations only, the forum is organized in association with The Institute of Risk Management , Chartered Insurance Institute and International Insurance Society. (QNA)


Chief of Staff Receives Message from Eritrean Defense Minister
Doha, March 13 (QNA) - HE Chief of Staff of the Qatari Armed Forces Major General Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah received today a message from Eritrean Defense Minister General Sebhat Ephrem pertaining to bilateral relations between the two countries, especially in the military affairs.
The message was handed by HE Ambassador of Eritrea to Qatar Ali Ibrahim Ahmed during his meeting with HE Al Attiyah.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior officers of the armed forces. (QNA)


Qtel and iHorizons Sign Strategic Alliance Agreement
Doha, March 13 (QNA) - Qtel and iHorizons have concluded a major strategic alliance agreement this week, to develop and market a number of advanced technology solutions and business services. Recognising the ongoing development of Qatar s economy, the two companies will cooperate on world-class business solutions aimed at supporting companies in specific industries and growth sectors.
This alliance will see the two companies align their product development roadmaps and technology architectures in order to provide a faster time-to-market for new solutions, as well as bespoke service for key customers, the Company said in a statement.
The agreement was signed at a ceremony attended by senior representatives from Qtel and from iHorizons, including Eng. Khalid Abdulla Al Mansouri, Executive Director, Business Solutions, Qtel, and Mr. Mohamad Takriti, CEO of iHorizons.
It is one of the first agreements of its kind between two leading Qatari companies, a major regional operator and a leading provider of business solutions and IT services.
