British Foreign Office Spokesman Praises Qatari-British Relations

Doha, March 15 (QNA) - The British Foreign Office Spokesman Martin Day has hailed the Qatari -British relations as " excellent in all fields" .... He referred to positive results of the visit by HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani to London last year ... He also stressed the importance of the talks held by British Prime Minister David Cameron with senior Qatari officials during his visit to Doha recently.
Speaking to reporters here today, the British official said the consultations between officials of both countries regarding various regional and international issues were continuing, noting the increasing of trade volume between Qatar and Britain continued ... He revealed that a British-Qatari trade forum would be held in the coming period ... He also expressed his belief that this would lead to a rise in trade exchange between the countries from two billion sterling pounds sterling to four billion sterling pounds by 2015.
He noted in this context to the signing of an agreement earlier on the export of Qatari gas to Britain, in addition to the memorandum of understanding on sports cooperation ... He also praised Qatar hosting the World Cup 2022,.
On the Qatari-British relations relations in the field of education, the British spokesman said there are about 1500 Qatari students who are currently studying in a Britain ... Stressing that a branch of the British School in Doha would be open in Doha in the coming months ... "we want to deepen our cooperation with Qatar in all political, economic, educational and sports domains" he added ... He stressed that the British government would do everything in its power to strengthen those relations in various fields. (QNA)
