Turkish Minister : ''Qatar a Big Success Story"
Doha , March 16 (QNA) - Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Ahmet Davutoglu has confirmed that "Qatar is a big success story", highlighting that HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani is "a close friend of Turkey".
In an exclusive interview with Arabic daily /Al Sharq/ newspaper published here Wednesday , the Turkish minister said that the Qatari-Turkish relations are good and distinguished. He added that the two countries coordinate between them regarding regional and international issues, referring to the two countries' cooperation in handling the Lebanese crisis.
Davutoglu added that his country supported Qatar's bid to host the world cup 2022, adding that Turkey wants to witness further success stories in the region.
Speaking at the 6th edition of Aljazeera Forum, Davutoglu said he considers Qatar his second home. "It's one of the countries that I love and visit a lot. I've been here last month and on three other occasions in the previous months, so you can say that bilateral relations are very good," he said.
Regarding Libya, Davutoglu said that Turkey fears of a humanitarian crisis in Libya. He added that Turkey supports all civil cries for democracy and human rights and freedoms. ''Turkey shares the Arab League's fears regarding Muammar Al Gaddafi's use of force against Libyan opposition, he said adding that Turkey however wants the transfer of power to happen peacefully. He added that Turkey will support any initiatives that can lead to a peaceful transfer of power without further violence.
