Wasit Council contracts with Indian firm to provide 5 power stations

Kut (NINA) – Wasit Provincial Council announced it contracted with an Indian firm to supply the city with power stations.

Deputy Chairman of the council, Mahdi Ali Al Musawi, told NINA correspondent that “a delegation representing the city council visited India recently to view the offers from the Indian power generation firms, a deal was reached with the Indian Baharat firm to supply five power stations.”

He added that each station has a 126mw capacity; the total cost reached $450 million.

He concluded by saying that “a prior approval from the Premier was already taken to contract with foreign firms in coordination with oil ministry.”
