Mahdi, US ambassador discuss deals
Baghdad (NINA) – Vice-President, Adel Abdul Mahdi, discussed with the US ambassador to Iraq, James Jeffery, the importance of committing to deals reached between both countries in all domains.
A statement issued by Mahdi’s office said he received the US ambassador today, during the meeting “bilateral relations and means of enhancing them in service of both countries interests were discussed.”
It added that both sides discussed the recent developments in the Iraqi arena and the democratic transition in Iraq.
The statement concluded that both officials discussed “escalating developments in a number of the Arab states and the demonstrations sweeping many regime in the region,” calling for “adopting the democratic methods in power transition and to avoid violence and oppression.”
