GOIC to Release Gulf Industries Map In September
Doha, March 26 (QNA) - The Secretary General of Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) Abdul Aziz Bin Hamad Al-Aqeel announced Saturday that GOIC has ended about 80 percent of the map of the Gulf industries aimed at strengthening coordination and industrial integration between the GCC States, pointing out that the results of this study will be available for all in September.
Aqeel said in a statement during the inauguration ceremony of the logo and the website of the 13th Gulf industrial Conference to be held early next year in Riyadh and the launch of the GOIC website, that the results of this study will be submitted in a report to the Committee on Industrial Cooperation in the GCC states next May for consideration and approval, the be placed in the hands of the GCC Chambers of Commerce and Industry in order to be in contact with the factories owners to express their opinions on them before releasing results of this study next September.
He noted that the two most important fields to developing the industrial sector are currently knowledge-based industries and modern technology. He added that the two can enable diversifying the industrial production as well as increasing national income through their technological and financial advantages.
Al Ageel said that he considers the Gulf Industrialists 13th conference, which will be held on Jan 17-19 of next year, an opportunity to consider the strategies implemented for Knowledge-based industries and modern technology, it will also be a suitable time to review that challenges that faces these strategies according to the Secretary General.
Al Ageel highlighted the role GOIC played in encouraging the member countries to invest in Knowledge-based industries and modern technology; in 2008, the organization prepared a detailed study of how the GCC can establish a knowledge-based industries in the region. He also highlighted the organization's how it paid special attention to its website to keep in contact with end-users and cater to the needs of the site's surfers.
