J&K Minister bats for making Indo-Pak border irrelevant

Jammu (Jammu and Kashmir) (PTI) - Batting
strongly for making the dividing line between India and
Pakistan "utterly irrelevant", Jammu and Kashmir Finance
Minister Abdul Rahim Rather Thursday said "union of hearts and
not physical segregation that offers a better solution to
reconciling conflicting political interests".
"I call for making artificial dividing line between
the two neighboring countries of India and Pakistan utterly
irrelevant, if not demolishing it altogether like the wall of
Berlin", Rather said while addressing the valedictory function
at a a panel discussion on cross-LoC Trade here.
"It is the union of hearts and not the physical
segregation of bodies that offers a better solution to
reconciling conflicting political interests", Rather said.
He said the LoC, like the wall of Berlin, has emerged
through history as one of the biggest tragedies which worked
as a line of segregation of two opposite political ideologies
for over six decades and all through remained oblivious of
pain and anguish of all the human beings living across the
line on either side despite sharing strong bonds of common
culture, languages, economic interests and in many cases
having close social and blood relationships.
