Health Minister : National Health Strategy Serves All Who Live In Qatar
Doha, April 03 (QNA) - HE Minister of Public Health and Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) Abdullah bin Khalid Al Qahtani said that national health strategy which was launched today reflects the keenness of the State of Qatar to build a healthy society that enjoys the highest health-care services "at any time and any place ".
HE the Minister underlined at the news conference he held on the occasion of the launch of the national health strategy 2011-2016 this evening, that this strategy aims to serve all residents of the State of Qatar whether Qataris or expatriates, Arabs or foreigners," where all are equal right to have access to health services.
He added that the budget for the implementation of the 35 projects included in the strategy reached QR 608 million, over six years, which is undertaken by the Secretariat of the Supreme Council of Health, while there are some projects that need extra cost to be financed from the State.
HE the Minister further said that the implementation of the health strategy is subject to periodic assessment through the Office of Project Management of the Department of Public Policy of the Supreme Council of Health, which is to report directly to the Minister of Health on the progress of work.
He said that the implementation of the strategy is not linked to the work of the Secretariat General of the Supreme Council of health only, but is also associated with hospitals, health centres and the private sector and thus the goal of each of the strategy's project is to be coordinated in order to ensure the implementation of the plans developed by other parties.
HE the Minister said the strategy aims to provide a distinctive health service as part of Qatar National Vision 2030 objectives of building a healthy society through the presence of an integrated system of health care in the period before birth until death.(QNA)
