Djibouti President Hails Qatar's Role in the Region

Doha , April 14 (QNA) - Djibouti President Ismail Omar Guelleh has expressed his appreciation for the prominent role played by HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani to solving the crises in the region, praising HH role as well in maintaining the peace and stability process in the African Horn with a especial emphasis on the role the Doha platform is playing to solve the crisis in Darfur and in supporting regional and international peace.
In an interview with Qatari newspaper Al Sharq published here on Thursday , President Guelleh said that Djibouti's relations with Qatar are distinguished and witnessed a noticeable improvement in all sectors especially in the last few years . He further said that the State of Qatar made great strides to end the disagreement between Djibouti and Eritrea, noting meantime that his country appreciates the facilitations that should prosper the Qatari initiative in that regard.
The Djibouti president who was re-elected for a third term, was quoted by Ash-Sharq daily as saying that his country has strategic relationship with the Gulf States adding that the priority of his new administration will be to strengthen these ties with the Gulf States by offering special privileges to the Gulf States. The president called for more Gulf investments into Djibouti.
Touching on the change in the Middle-East, Guelleh said that there is a failure in dealing with the aspirations of the Arab youth especially when it comes to their ability to provide jobs and solve unemployment. He said that the Arab World does need real reforms that lead to democracy, more freedoms , social justice and fighting against corruption.
