Qatar to Celebrate World Heritage Day
Doha, April 17 (QNA) -The Ministry of Culture, Arts and Heritage will organize tomorrow a ceremony to mark the World Heritage Day and to highlight the cultural and heritage aspects through linking folklore to the reality of the contemporary era.
The celebration also aims at maintaining the Qatari folklore which represents the ancient human innovation and heritage of the Qatar's successive generations. The World Heritage Day is celebrated simultaneously throughout the world on April 18 every year.
The celebration, to be held in the Heritage Village, will feature a variety of folk performances by all communities living on the soil of Qatar, in addition to colorful cultural events in which local and popular troupes will take part.
Meanwhile the Heritage Village will continue its cultural events on Thursday and Friday every week during the month of April, while Souq Wagif will be the scene of various cultural and heritage events and shows on Thursday and Friday every week during the months of April and May.(QNA)
