Qatar Project 201 to be Held on May 2
Doha , April 20 (QNA) - The Qatar Project 2011 due to kick off on May 2-5 at the Doha Exhibition Center with a number of the biggest construction companies participating.
In an press release by the exhibition entitled Project Qatar 2011, the organizing committee of the International Exhibition for Technology of Construction and building materials and environmental technology said that more than 1700 will participate in the upcoming edition which will represent a strategic opportunity for those who seek benefit from the flourishing Qatari economy.
The statement said that the exhibition will present participators with opportunities that came as a result of the flourishing Qatari economy. This is reflected in the plans of investment in infrastructure that reach $100 billion in the coming 12 years in addition to infrastructure projects for rail-ways, roads and marine projects.
In light of hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar has placed plans for projects in all sectors whether it's in hosting, education, sciences, arts or entertainment.
One of the projects is a new international airport worth $13 billion to be done by 2013. There are also $4 billion to be invested in building new stadiums, $20 billion for new roads including new high roads. That is in addition to building a bridge between Qatar and Bahrain.
Head of Qatar Project 2011 Michelle Gabriel said that the Qatari economy was able to adapt to global economic crisis and present "incredible" investment opportunities.
This will be the eighth edition of Qatar Project.
