Qatar Chairs UN General Assembly's Next Session Due to Kick Off in September

New York, April 26 (QNA) - The State of Qatar will preside over the 66th session of the UN General Assembly due to kick off next Septmber,2011.
It has been decided that by next June 13, the accreditation ceremonies would be held for electing HE Nasser Bin Abdulaziz Al Nasr, as the chairman of the UN General Assembly's next session. HE Al- Nasr remained Qatar's permanent representative to the United Nations for 13 years full of tangible and significant accomplishments the State of Qatar has achieved.
The post is the most sublime and superior position a Qatari state official has ever occupied, the matter which reflects the distinguished position of the wise Qatari policy under the leadership of HH the Emir and the support of HH the Heir Apparent and the most successful diplomacy of HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister.
Qatar's term of chairmanship of the UN General Assembly would be full of challenges and the accelerating changes which occurred in the multiparty international relationships .
This which would make it imperative on the chairman to create a consensus in views concerning such grand challenges facing the world today , especially the armed conflict, hungary, poverty , climate change , the global economic crisis , the humanitarian response to all sorts of calamities and catastrophes and the other political issues with a view to boosting respect to human rights , rational governance , supremacy of law and dialogue among world peoples to the common interests of the humanity .
