Tokyo Financial Exchange eyes connecting to NYSE Euronext's network
TOKYO, April 26 Kyodo -
Tokyo Financial Exchange Inc. said Tuesday it will consider connecting to NYSE Euronext Inc.'s trading network in a bid to encourage more trade in derivatives.
The plan would enable investors to trade financial products such as interest-rate futures via an interconnected network linking the exchange in Tokyo and the Secure Financial Transaction Infrastructure, operated by the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange.
''We'd like to do it as soon as possible,'' Shozo Ota, president of Tokyo Financial Exchange, said about when the company will make a final decision.
The exchange also announced a mid-term management plan for the three years from fiscal 2011 and included in the plan its decision to wait until fiscal 2013 or later to list its shares.
