Remark of S. Korean Minister of Unification Slammed
Pyongyang, April 27 (KCNA) -- Hyon In Thaek, south Korean minister of Unification, told a recent "international academic symposium" that even if inter-Korean dialogue is held, it can hardly achieve results unless the north has "an honest attitude" toward the "Cheonan" warship case and "denuclearization."
The south Korean authorities are now under the pressure to take an option as their "policy toward the north" has proved to be totally bankrupt, the Rodong Sinmun newspaper Tuesday notes, and goes on:
Various circles of south Korea and world public are warmly hailing and supporting the DPRK's important proposal for improving the inter-Korean relations and tiding over the grave situation prevailing on the Korean Peninsula through dialogue and negotiations. They are becoming increasingly vocal urging the south Korean authorities to make a switchover in their "policy toward the north" and opt for improving the relations at an early date. Much upset by this, the conservative group is stirring up an atmosphere of confrontation, putting up a "responsible step" from someone as a pre-condition for dialogue. This is aimed to shun dialogue and escape from isolation at home and abroad. -0-
