HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Meets Margaret T. Carey
Doha, April 28 (QNA) - HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud conferred here on Thursday with Margaret T. Carey, the Director of the Africa Division in theDepartment of Peacekeeping Operations of the United Nations, now visiting Qatar.
Talks during the meeting dealt with efforts and mediation Qatar has been exerting to finish the peace process in Darfur enclave and endeavours underway to convene the enlarged conference of the Darfur interested people slated for Doha on May 18-23.
For her part, Margaret T. Carey expressed appreciation to Qatar's efforts and those of the United Nations and African Union chief joint mediator for Darfur Djibril Bassole to create the adequate atmosphere and reconciling the rival parties to reach a just , comprehensive and lasting solution to the Darfur crisis.
The meeting was attended by a number of senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
