Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Opens Project Qatar 2011 Expo


Doha, May 02 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Municipality and Urban Planning Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Khalifa Al Thani opened this evening the Project Qatar 2011 Exhibition at the Doha Exhibition Centre, in the presence of a number of government officials and representatives of the diplomatic corps as well as Qatari and foreign businessmen.
The exhibition being held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani, opens its doors to the public until next Thursday.
More than 1700 companies from all over the world are showcasing their products according to the organizer, constituting the pillar of a real national efforts in the area of ??infrastructure development over the next decade, in light of the massive development steps taken by Qatar in preparation for the organization Cup World 2022.
The exhibition space is stretched in this session, outside of the Doha Exhibition Centre with a record number of exhibitors where the organizing company has set up an external display area specifically designed to host the 16 national pavilions for the participating countries.
The eighth edition of this largest event includes materials, equipment and construction techniques in Qatar to highlight the solutions and techniques of green building.
The exhibition focuses on plans of the establishment of sports stadiums required for hosting the soccer tournament, which opens a new page in the record of the largest international trade fair at the level of the construction sector in Qatar and the region.
The Expo is also being held in conjunction with the Heavy Max 2011 exhibition which is an international specialist trade fair for heavy construction machinery .
The exhibition area of Project Qatar 2011 is spread over 52,000 square metres marking an increase of 73%.
