Meeting Between Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry and a German Delegation
Doha , May 03 (QNA) - A delegation representing Qatar Chamber of Commerce & Industry (QCCI) held a meeting with a delegation of German Businessmen who are currently visiting Qatar.
The meeting, which was attended by a number of Qatari Businessmen and their German counterparts, aimed to exchange views on the commercial opportunities available and cooperation between the two sides' businessmen in the construction, infrastructure, energy, water, industrial equipment and construction equipment sectors.
Chairman of QCCI HE Sheikh Khalifa Bin Jassim Bin Mohammad Al-Thani said in his address that Germany is considered an important partner to the State of Qatar, noting that there are many depictions of significant cooperation between Qatar and Germany, including cooperation in different investment fields. He added that there are a number of German companies that work in the field of building and construction as well as energy in Qatar. The chairman also pointed to the aggregation of Qatari investment in Germany in sectors like banking and automobiles.
The chairman said that he looks forward to increasing the outlook of cooperation in the future between the two sides, hoping that the meeting will lead to the benefits of the two countries.
In turn, Secretary General of the German Arab Chamber of Commerce and Industry Abdulaziz Al- Mikhlafi pointed to the increasing interest from both sides in enhancing cooperation, something the Secretary-General believes was reflected recently in the diversification of investments and its multiplication in a number of sectors.
Qatar's imports from Germany were valued at $679 million in 2010, while the State's export to Germany in 2009 were valued at $898 million.
