Qatar's Minister of Interior Affairs Attends GCC Interior Ministers' Consultative Meeting


Abu Dhabi, May 03 (QNA)- The State of Qatar participated in the 12th consultative meeting of the GCC interior ministers which was held at Emirates Palace here on Tuesday.
Qatar's Minister Of State For Interior Affairs HE Sheikh Abdullah Bin Nasser Bin Khalifa Al Thani led Qatar's delegation to the meeting which was opened by General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior who said that the new current challenges dictate on the Gulf Cooperation Council for Arab States to further bolster cooperation among the security authorities to realise the endeavours of the leadership for more cooperation, and exchanging views and expertise.
Sheikh Saif welcomed the participants in their second country, and conveyed to them the regards of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on the convention of this important brotherly gathering amid developments and circumstances being witnessed by a number of countries in the region.
The GCC interior ministers discussed topics tabled on the agenda which includes a number of issues, notably, the joint coordination and cooperation.
The meeting was a good chance to exchange viewpoints on several issues related to the latest develeopments of the joint gulf security cooperation.
Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan referred to the UAE President's statement to the meeting in which he said "the security of the Gulf is the security of the whole world. Any threat to one of the Gulf countries extends to the whole region". (QNA)
