Education Minister Issues Ministerial Decision on Academic Year & Tests Calendar for 2011/2012

Doha, May 03 (QNA) -HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education and Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) Saad bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud has issued decision to determine the dates of study, examinations, and holidays for the academic year 2011/2012.
According to a statement by the Supreme Education Council, the Ministerial Decision is based on the Cabinet's approval of the draft academic calendar for the 2011 - 2012 and approval of the amendment to school vacation for the academic year 2010 - 2011 to start on 26/06/2011 to 8 /9/2011.
According the ministerial decision, the academic year 2011/2012 for staff of all schools at all stages shall begin on Wednesday, 7 /9 /2011, and for students of all stages (daytime and evening) shall start on Sunday, 11/9 / 2011.
The mid-year vacation mode for all schools shall begin on Sunday, 12/2/2012, to continue until Thursday, 32/02/2012. The second semester for all schools shall begin on Sunday, 26/02/2012.
The end of the next academic year for students shall start on Sunday, 6 / 24 of the same year and continue to 6 / 9 of the same year .. While vacation for school personnel in all stages shall start on Sunday, 22/7 and continues until Tuesday, 4 / 9/ 2012.
As for the academic year 2013/2012, for school staff at all levels shall start on Wednesday, 5/9/2012 .. While the start time of all students in all schools (daytime and evening) shall begin on ??Sunday, 9/9/2012.
The Evaluation Institute shall issue a circular on examinations calendar for independent schools.(QNA)
