NA, SLC deal with Iraqiya Slate as partner, says Shabandar
Baghdad (NINA) - MP from the National Alliance-State of Law Coalition, Izzat Al Shabandar, said "the NA and SLC specifically deal with the Iraqiya Slate, not with its chairman, Iyad Allawi."
He told NINA on Thursday "Allawi is not the IS, and Maliki deals with the IS as a key partner in the government.”
The past two days have witnessed debates between the IS and the SLC after Maliki's nomination for three figures to run for security ministries, sparking the ire of IS which considered this as a confiscation of the IS right to the Ministry of Defense, and non commitment of Erbil agreement.
Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki yesterday, submitted three candidates to run for security ministries, while IS submitted four candidates to occupy the Ministry of Defense.
The IS said it would not vote for any candidate outside the submitted names for security ministries.
