TAMUQ Celebrates Graduation of Students
Doha, May 05 (QNA) - The Texas A&M University at Qatar on Thursday celebrated the graduation of 55 new engineers at the institute s commencement ceremony on Thursday.
The event, held at the Sheraton Doha Hotel and Resort t, represents a milestone for the university, as it will graduate its 200th new engineer and its 100th Qatari engineer.
Addressing the graduation ceremony, HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, who is also Chairman of the Joint Advisory Council at TAMUQ said this annual event is a historic point of the University and the State of Qatar, expressing his pride of this achievement.
HE the Minister urged graduates to use all the skills and scientific gains they got from the one of the best specialized universities worldwide and the best in application of quality standards in the field of engineering .. He pointed out that Qatar's future is promising in the hands of these students.
He said that all are proud of the graduates achievements and look forward to their contributions to the labour market, especially in the energy sector, HE the Minister added.
The TAMUQ graudates include several disciplines, 8 of them in chemical engineering, 13 in electrical engineering, 14 in mechanical engineering, 20 in petroleum engineering .. 30 percent of the total number of graduates are females.
