"Doha Forum Offers an Important Channel for Exchanges of Opinions"; Says Leroy

Doha, 9 May 2011 (QNA) The 11 Doha Forum for democracy- development and free trade offers an important channel for exchanges of opinions, ideas between delegations and peoples, said the French Minister of the City Maurice Leroy. "It already has provided over 11 years inspiration and ideas for improving intercultural ties".
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), on the sideline of the official opening of the 11th Doha Forum held in concomitance with the IV Enriching the Middle East's Economic Future Conference, the minister who is on charge of the "Future City" in the French government, said the future city would be a permanent one in terms of transport, housing and peaceful coexistence between various cultures and religions.
The State of Qatar is playing a major regional and international role in maintaining an open dialogue between the Mideast region and the rest of the world , he added. 'Official meetings, informal discussions would enhance ties between peoples. Slogans and speeches cannot alone build international ties, human contact is also so important', Leroy said. "Yesterday I held a meeting with HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada, during which we inaugurated a new MBA program through a partnership program between each of Qatar Foundation, the HEC Paris, is one of the foremost business schools in France, the French Institute of Petroleum and TOTAL", Leroy said.
Thanks to this new program, 50 students, including 25 Qatari students will be formed in Energy in France and Qatar. Education is the best way to bring people together, the French Minister explained. This program is a part of our cooperation to bolster education ties , he continued.
