Portugal s Foreign Minister Hails Qatar's Regional Role

Doha, May 10 (QNA) -Portugal s Foreign Minister Luis Amado has highlighted the key and prominent role Qater has been playing for establishing the bases of dialogue among countries underlinging meantime that the well organisation of the ongoing 11th Doha Forum and the conference on Enriching the Middle East s Economic Future in Doha over the past years are clear evidence of such a trend .
The 11th Doha Forum and the conference on Enriching the Middle East s Economic Future aim at bringing closer viewpoints and ideas of a large number of key experts , academics , researchers and civil society activists representing more than 80 world countries , the matter which is conisdered a key and vital affair for supporting the joint action , said Portugal s Foreign Minister Luis Amado in a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) on Tuesday.
The Portuguese Foreign Minister considered qatar vision 2030 is supportive to peace , development and values of tolerance and also represents a key channel for the success of the joint action strategy in the region and the world as well.
Elaborating the foreign minister said that the State Of Qatar is also playing a key role at the diplomatic level for settling a number of regional disputes and conflicts raging in some countries such as Somalia , Sudan , Lebanon And Palestine ..etc.
Lauding to the key role Qatar plays in dispute raging in Libya and the last of which was Qatar's participation in the contact group meeting held in Rome , Italy ,last Thursday, Luis Amado said Qatar has achieved mammoth success in implementing a qualitative cooperation between the NATO and the arab states for resolving the dispute in Libya.
Touching on relations between Qatar And Portugal , FM Luis Amado said ,'' the two countries are closely acting to develop joint cooperation in several areas '' adding Portugal would shortly open an embassy in Doha and likewise Qatar will open an embassy in Lisbon soon.
Regarding the economic aspect, Portuguse Foreign Minister Luis Amado voiced hope the economic growth between the two countries would yield tangible development in the coming stage.
Regarding the arab uprisings raging across the arab world at present , Luis Amado told QNA that what is happening does not represent a challenge to the region alone but to the world at large since instability in the region would surely affect the economic progress there , and therefore we have to closely cooperate with the arab world to ensure the swift and peaceful transition of power in the region
