Yemen participates in economic, social, cultural rights meeting in Geneva

GENEVA (Saba) - Minister of Legal Affairs Rashad al-Rassas reviewed here on Wednesday efforts
and procedures made by Yemen on improving human rights and ways of strengthening them in various fields.
On the sidelines of his participation in meetings of the committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights in its 46 session concluded on Tuesday in Geneva, al-Rassas pointed
out that Yemen made progress in these areas in accordance with international agreement signed by Yemen before the international community.
The signature of these conventions by Yemen affirms its keenness on providing political, economic, social and cultural rights for all Yemeni citizens, including the enhanced
development of legislation and procedures for these rights.
The international committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights commended Yemen's participation in the session and its continuing interest on human rights issues.
For two days, the session discussed the second periodic report of Yemen provided to the international committee on the level of implementation of the international convention
on economic, social and cultural rights.
