Second International Businesswomen Forum Kicks off Tomorrow


Doha, May 16 (QNA) - Under the patronage of HH Sheikha Moza Bin Nasser , The Chairperson Of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development (QF) , the Second International Businesswomen Forum will kick off tomorrow, Tuesday, May 17. The forum is organised by Qatar Businesswomen Association in cooperation with "Business Interactive Network '' company.
The participants in the two-day forum will discuss a set of economic and investment issues related to the woman's role business and investment domain and challenges facing the world economy and the role of the businesswomen in countering these challenges.
The agenda also includes a session on the role of the non-governmental organisations in upgrading the position of the businesswomen and shedding light on their accomplishments.
It also includes an honouring ceremonies to each of HE Deputy Premier and Chief of the Emiri Diwan Abdullah Bin Hamad Al Attiyah, who has remarkably contributed to developing the several sectors in the country especially in the oil and gas sectors which are of main pillars of the Qatari economy and HE Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the Development Planning Dr. Ibrahim Al Ibrahim in appreciation to their tangible achievements and their faithful efforts for supporting qatar national vision 2030.
A number of other prominent figures who have achieved distinguished and honorable accomplishments at the regional level will be also honoured including member of the Lebanse Parliament MRS.Bahiya el Hariri and member of the Jordanian senate Suhair al-Ali.
The forum will also deal with a number of economic and investment issues related to women's role in business and investment, particularly the role that businesswomen can play in facing challenges to global economy.
A large number of businesswomen from Qatar, Germany, the United Kingdom , Kurdistan and the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States (GCC) member states, Jordan and Lebanon will attend the forum with a view to exchanging ideas and knowledge in the field of business.
More than 600 businessmen and representatives from 20 countries are expected to partake in the forum together with a number of representatives of the governmental sector, the Social Affairs experts and representatives of the civil society and non-governmental organizations . (QNA)
