Anti -Terrorism Workshop Opens Tuesday

Doha, May 16 (QNA) - The regional workshop on 'Security Council Resolutions on Countering Terrorism and its Mechanism of Implementation' begins here Tuesday at the Doha Sheraton Hotel.
The two-day workshop, conducted by the National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NATC) in association with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), is under the patronage of the Minister of State for Interior Affairs and Chairman of Nation Anti-Terrorism Committee HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, a media statement from the Public Relations department of the Ministry of Interior said today.
The workshop aims to familiarise the attendees on the UN Security Council Resolutions and its mechanism of implementation to counter terrorist crimes. The workshop also includes a presentation on the international strategy of the United Nations (UN) to counter terrorism.
The workshop is conducted as part of the Qatar's initiative in countering terrorism. The first regional workshop of this kind was held in 2007 with the co-operation of the UNODC. (QNA)
