Lee shuffles five vice-ministerial posts
SEOUL, May 17 (Yonhap) -- President Lee Myung-bak named an industry and energy affairs secretary as the first vice minister of knowledge economy on Tuesday in a shake-up that also affected four other vice-ministerial posts, the presidential spokeswoman said.
The new vice minister, Yoon Sang-jik, is a technocrat who spent decades handling industrial and energy affairs at the ministry. Lee also promoted Kim Jung-gwan, a senior ministry official in charge of energy affairs, to be second vice minister of the ministry, presidential spokeswoman Kim Hee-jung said.
Han Man-hee, chief of the agency in charge of building a new government complex in central South Korea, was named the first vice minister of land, transport and maritime affairs, while Choi Min-ho, chief of the home ministry-affiliated Appeals Commission, was named Han's successor as chief of the government complex construction agency.
Lee also named Park Chan-woo, a senior home affairs ministry official, to succeed Choi as chief of the Appeals Commission, the spokeswoman said.
