Women's Contribution Vital for Commercial Success, Al Mohannadi Says
Doha, May 17 (QNA) - Women's contribution to local and regional economies is essential to commercial success, RasGas Managing Director Hamad Rashid Al Mohannadi told the Second Qatar International Business Women's Forum here Tuesday.
Addressing the gathering of leaders, economy experts and members of the business fraternity, Al Mohannadi said, "The Qatar Business Women's Forum (QIBF) comes at a time when more women in our region are active participants in the workforce. Their contribution to local and regional economies is essential to commercial success."
Whatever role in society women play, whether in the home or the workplace, their vital impact on the social and economic development of a country should never be under-estimated, he told the Forum and added that it is important that as women form a significant proportion of our workforce that we do not lose sight of our traditions and values.
Al Mohannadi shared RasGas's best practices and experience in promoting women in the company's workforce.
"In RasGas, we are committed to realising the full potential of all our employees, male and female and we are rewarded by seeing professional men and women standing together to achieve success in the business place while maintaining a strong commitment to their family life," he said.
We recognise that we must arm our workforce with the necessary skills and confidence to reach these standards and that is why RasGas is proud to be a strategic partner in today's event led by the Qatari Business Women s Association (QBWA) an event where collaboration, sharing of skills, experience and networking highlights the crucial role women increasingly play in our workforce, he said.
He praised women who have struck a balance between a successful business career and managing their homes. He mentioned how over 20% of women employed in RasGas "balance the professional demands of work while still retaining their central role to maintaining a strong family environment'.
