KEPCO wins US$46 mln order from Dominica

By Nam Kwang-sik SEOUL, May 18 (Yonhap) -- Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO), South Korea's state-run power company, said Wednesday that it has won a US$46 million order from the Dominican government to build power-transmission lines in the Caribbean island nation. KEPCO will complete the 400-kilometer power-transmission line by May 2013, the company said in a statement. In February, a consortium led by KEPCO signed a $146 million deal to modernize aging electricity substations and build power-transmission lines in southwestern Kazakhstan. The consortium will complete the project by November 2013. KEPCO launched its overseas power-transmission line business in 2009.
