Seoul shares open lower on refiner, builder losses
SEOUL, May 20 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks opened a tad lower on Friday as investors unloaded shares of refiners and builders, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) fell 6.09 points, or 0.29 percent, to trade at 2,089.42 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
Top refiner SK Innovation fell 2.27 percent and its rival S-Oil shed 3.19 percent amid mixed outlooks for oil prices.
The local currency was trading at 1,083.85 won to the U.S. dollar as of 9:15 a.m., up 2.35 won from Thursday's close.
