STX's European unit wins vessel order from Norway
SEOUL, May 20 (Yonhap) -- STX OSV Holdings Ltd., a European unit of South Korean shipbuilding conglomerate STX Group, has clinched a deal valued at around 120 billion won (US$109 million) to build two vessels, the group said Friday.
Under the deal with Farstad Shipping ASA of Norway, STX OSV will deliver the vessels starting from the first half of 2013, it said.
The vessels, 81.7 meters long and 18 meters wide, will be used to transport goods and equipment to and from offshore facilities, it said.
STX OSV, with its focus on offshore plants and specialized ships, started trading its shares on the Singapore Exchange on Nov. 12 last year.
Shares of STX Corp., the group's de facto holding firm, were trading at 22,350 won on the Seoul bourse as of 1:25 p.m., down 3.66 percent.
