Interior Minister Award for Best Policeman, Best Police Station launched
Abu Dhabi, Sep. 7, 2008 (WAM) - Abu Dhabi Police today announced the launch of the Minister of Interior Award for Best Policeman and Best Police Station to further encourage excellence and spur competitions for better performance.
Making the announcement, Acting Director General of Police Operations at Abu Dhabi Police H.Q. Major General Mohamed Al-Awadi Al Menhali said the Award has been approved by the Minister of Interior Lt. General HH Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
Participation by police stations is mandatory while police officers with at least two years of service may individually compete to meet the best standards, according to Al-Menhali.
The award which will be held annually also aims to boost Abu Dhabi Police's chances of winning the Abu Dhabi Award for Excellence in Government Performance.
The four criteria to determine the winning police station are leadership, execution of policies and strategies, operations and results while the winning police officer will be determined depending on compliance with 3 criteria: 1- 1- performance, achievement, compliance with the job, 2-innovative initiatives and participation and 3- oversight skills.
