Seoul Auction to offer distinguished modern and contemporary art
By Kim Young-gyo
HONG KONG (Yonhap) - Seoul Auction said Sunday it will sell works by distinguished modern and contemporary artists this month, as part of efforts to cater to the broad tastes of collectors in Hong Kong.
South Korea's leading art auction house said it will present 75 outstanding works by leading Western, Korean, Japanese and Chinese artists such as Julian Opie and Zeng Fanzhi on May 30 at Hong Kong's Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
"Seoul Auction has continued its mission to introduce major Western artworks to the Asian audience in every sale," said Shim Misung, managing director Seoul Auction's Hong Kong office.
"We have now held a total of seven successful auctions in Hong Kong, and established credibility among our clients. Seoul Auction also presents superlative works by both established and cutting-edge Korean artists, as well as artists from China and Japan."
Seoul Auction also said it opened a representative office in Beijing last Friday in the Chinese capital city's well-known art district in Dashanzi.
It expects to provide even better and more tailored services for its growing number of clients in China.
