Tehran Times, Manila Times sign media agreement
TEHRAN, May 22 (MNA) -- The Tehran Times signed a memorandum of agreement with the Philippines’ Manila Times daily newspaper on Friday.
The agreement was signed by the editor in chief of the Manila Times, Rene Q. Bas, and Iran’s cultural attaché in Manila, Hossein Divsalar.
The cooperation agreement, which will run for three years, includes the exchange of news, workforce training as well as technical and research cooperation.
During the meeting, Divsalar stated that media cooperation between the Iranian and the Filipino newspapers will help the two nations get a far better understanding of each other.
He also said that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Philippines have many cultural affinities, and the cooperation between the media outlets of the two countries will strengthen Tehran-Manila bonds.
The Manila Times is the oldest existing English language newspaper in the Philippines.
