MBC cable TV announcer jumps to death

SEOUL, May 23 (Yonhap) -- A cable TV announcer died, apparently after jumping from her apartment building on Monday, police said, after she was surrounded by controversy over her romance with a baseball star and a suicide note on her Twitter page.
Song Ji-seon, a 30-year-old announcer of MBC Sports Plus, was found bleeding on the ground in front of her apartment building by a janitor, police said.
She was pronounced dead immediately after being moved to a nearby hospital.
"I came outside upon hearing a 'bang' sound and saw a person lying on the ground, bleeding, at the entrance of the parking lot," the unnamed janitor told the police.
The window of Song's apartment on the 19th floor was open when police officers arrived at the scene, they said.
Police suspect Song killed herself over recent rumors that she was dating Doosan Bears pitcher Im Tae-hoon. Song later admitted to the relationship. However, the Doosan Bears denied that Im and Song were in a relationship.
Police were trying to find the exact cause of death and if she left a suicide note.
Song made police officers and 119 rescue workers scramble to her apartment on May 7 when she wrote on her Twitter page that she was "too scared to jump off an apartment and it hurts too much to hang myself," a posting implying her suicide plan. But she was found to be sleeping after taking three sleeping pills.
