Robert Bosch eyes 13 pct sales increase in S. Korea
SEOUL, May 24 (Yonhap) -- Bosch Korea, the South Korean unit of the world's largest auto parts supplier Robert Bosch GmbH, seeks to boost its sales here by over 10 percent this year on strong demand from local automakers, the company's president said Tuesday.
Bosch Korea President Hermann Kaess said the company's sales nearly doubled over the past six years with its sales jumping 21 percent last year from a year earlier to 2.2 trillion won (US$2 billion).
Bosch Korea seeks to further increase its Korea sales this year to over 2.5 trillion won, up 13.6 percent from 2010, the company president said in a press conference at a Seoul hotel.
Kaess said his company will also continue to expand its business into lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles to secure a new engine for growth and strengthen its position in the local market.
The German-based company has set up SB Limotive, a joint venture with South Korea's Samsung SDI, to begin producing 180,000 units of electrified power trains from 2015.
