Russian Ambassador calls on NA President
(KPL) The Federation of Russia’s Ambassador in Laos, Valadimir Plotnikov paid a courtesy visit to President of National Assembly Thong
sing Thammavong on 4 September, at his office to inform the Federation of Russia to participate in the 17th Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum hosted by Laos.
The Ambassador expressed congratulations for the success in the Fifth Session (Sixth legislature) of National Assembly.
He explained the conflict between Russia and Georgia and he informed the Russia would attend the 17th Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum, which will be hosted by Lao Government in August 2009.
The meeting will raise the reputation and the role of the Lao PDR to the international stage.
The both sides highly valued the past and present bilateral co-operation between Laos and Russia and other issue that mutual interest.
