MAS EUROPEAN FLIGHTS ON SCHEDULE DESPITE REPORTED ASH CLOUD
KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) - Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flights to Europe
are on schedule despite reported ash spewing from a volcanic eruption in
Iceland, the airline said in a statement Tuesday.
MAS Director of Operations Capt Mohamed Azharuddin said the airline was
closely monitoring the situation daily.
"Where the situation warrants, our flight operations to and from Europe will
be reviewed.
"Customers, where possible, will be notified personally and via our
web-sites. We will also, where possible, offer them alternatives to minimise
disruptions to their travel plans,” he said.
Mohamed said customers could keep in touch at 1-300-88-3000 in Malaysia,
contact the nearest Malaysia Airlines office or log on to the website,
www.malaysiaairlines.com, for updates on the situation.
MAS operates twice-daily B747-400 services to London, a once-daily B747-400
service to Amsterdam and a B777-200 service to Paris, five times weekly B777-200
services to Frankfurt and three times weekly B777-200 services to Rome, he
added.
