Ministry of Interior Showcases its Services at QITCOM Expo

Doha, May 25 (QNA) - The Information Systems Department (ISD) of the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has showcased its latest information and communications technologies used by various departments of the ministry at the QITCOM 2011 Conference and Exhibition, organised by the Supreme Council of Information & Communication Technology (ICT Qatar).
HE the Minister of Business and Trade Jassim bin Abdul Azeez Al Thani inaugurated QITCOM 2011 at the Doha Exhibition Centre yesterday.
Top companies are displaying world-class information and communication technology products and systems at the exhibition which concludes Thursday.
ISD Director Brigadier Saleh Khamees Al Kubaisi said the MoI is highlight at the exhibition the success of its developments like providing electronic services to users over the last few years achieved in co-ordination with ICT-Qatar.
"The MoI is displaying a variety of its services and equipments such as self-service kiosks launched by the ministry to facilitate easy transactions for citizens and expatriates. People can avail 24 hours many of the ministry services through these kiosks, at major public places, using smart cards," Brigadier Al Kubaisi said.
"Electronic devices that issue smart cards for expatriates are also displayed in the pavilion at DEC. Smart cards for expatriates is a new project of the ministry and many employees have been deployed to issue these cards during QITCOM 2011," he added.
The ministry is also displaying at the expo mobile devices that help the security patrols to reach fast at the site of the incident using detailed maps and communicating with operations room, the Najm project, e-entry and exit systems. (QNA)
