Seoul stocks open lower on tech falls

SEOUL, May 27 (Yonhap) -- South Korean stocks opened slightly lower on Friday, weighed down by electronics makers, analysts said.
The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) declined 5.54 points, or 0.26 percent, to trade at 2,086.37 in the first 15 minutes of trading.
Big-cap tech firms like Samsung Electronics and LG Display opened weaker, sending the key index into negative terrain.
The local currency was trading at 1,086.35 won to the U.S. dollar as of 9:15 a.m., up 1.95 won from Thursday's close.
