Iranian satirist tries his hand at novel on Hazrat Abbas (AS)
TEHRAN, May 28 (MNA) -- Iranian satirist and poet Abolfazl Zaruii Nasrabadi has completed a novel on Hazrat Abbas (AS), brother of Imam Hussein (AS) who was martyred during the Ashura event in 680 CE.
The Neyestan Publications will print “Hazrat Abbas (AS)” in the upcoming months, he said on Friday.
He has used simple language to express the historical events about the hero of the Shia Muslims, he said.
“The people who will read the book should not expect it to express the passions of Ashura,” Zaruii Nasrabadi noted.
Hazrat Abbas (AS) was the standard-bearer of the army of Imam Hussein (AS). He was martyred when he was trying to bring water for his brother’s children.
“The book makes no reference to his bravery in the Ahura event and the story about his efforts as a water carrier – all people know about it,”
Due to his career in writing for Gol-Aqa, a leading Persian satirical magazine, Zaruii Nasrabadi is mostly known as a satirist. However, he has authored many books in other genres.
