‘Regional countries should stop following U.S. policies’

TEHRAN, May 29 (MNA) -- Regional countries should stop following U.S. policies, Iranian Intelligence Minister Heidar Moslehi said on Thursday.

“It is essential that the leaders of regional countries refrain from following the United States because the Islamic awakening will overtake them,” Moslehi said in Karaj, Alborz Province.

Certain countries in the region, such as Saudi Arabia, are making efforts to quell popular uprisings on the orders of the U.S., he stated.

U.S. did not kill Bin Laden

The United States’ claim that it killed Osama bin Laden cannot be substantiated, Moslehi said, adding that Bin Laden had died of a disease long before his death was announced by Washington on May 1 (May 2 Pakistan time).

However, White House officials selected this time to announce Bin Laden’s death to get a boost ahead of the 2012 elections, he noted.

These days, U.S. President Barack Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are conducting tours of various countries in order to prevent U.S. interests from suffering further damage, Moslehi stated.

Iran can repel cyber-attacks

Moslehi also said that Iranian government institutions should pay more attention to the instructions of the country’s intelligence and security services.

Nowadays, all offices of government institutions and non-governmental organizations use the Internet, and sometimes they inadvertently put their confidential information on the Internet, he noted.

He added that the Iranian Intelligence Ministry will not allow any virus to affect the country’s computers and Internet networks because the ministry has complete control over the national Internet system.
