STX Offshore wins US$150 mln order for 4 ships
SEOUL, May 30 (Yonhap) -- STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co., a South Korean shipbuilder, said Monday that it has won a US$150 million deal to build four vessels.
Under the deal with Thenamaris of Greece, STX Offshore will deliver the vessels used to carry oil products starting from the second half of 2012, the company said.
The vessels, 183 meters long and 32.2 meters wide, will store up to 51,000 tons of chemical goods, it said.
STX Offshore and its shipbuilding affiliates, including STX Europe AS, are targeting total orders valued at over $11 billion this year.
Shares of STX Offshore were trading at 26,750 won on the Seoul bourse as of 9:05 a.m., up 1.2 percent.
