Twelve killed, 25 injured in bomb blast at marketplace in Nigeria
RABAT, May 30 (Itar-Tass) -- Twelve people were killed and another 25
were injured in a strong bomb blast that rocked a marketplace in the
Nigerian city of Bauchi. The army barracks is located near the
marketplace, a source in the local law enforcement agencies said on Sunday.
The police do not have any information about those behind the crime.
The law enforcers have made neither detentions nor arrests yet. All
injured people were already hospitalized.
The bomb blast went off in the Nigerian capital of Abuja several hours
after President Goodluck Jonathan was sworn in.
Northern Nigeria, where the state of Bauchi is situated, is mainly
populated by the Muslims, but a small Christian minority lives there
either. After the military dictatorship was toppled in Nigeria numerous
bloody religious armed conflicts sparked up in the country.
