Najaf to host Iranian art show

TEHRAN, May 30 (MNA) -- Artworks created by a group of Iranian artists during a five-day workshop in Najaf will go on show at an exhibition arranged on the occasion of the anniversary of the birth
of Imam Ali (AS) on June 16.

Veterans Jalil Rasuli, Ahmad Khalilifar, Ahmad Vakili, Abdollah Moharrami and Javad Sadeqi are among the artists who will be creating their artworks of calligraphy, paintings and miniature during the workshop, the Persian service of MNA reported on Sunday.

The artworks will go on display in an exhibition for 10 days running from June 11 to 20 and will be later donated to the museum of Imam Ali (AS) in Najaf. Iranian photographer Masud Pakdel is accompanying the group.

Also included will be some works, selected from the Rudaki Foundation and Tehran’s Imam Ali (AS) Religious Arts Museum, which will also be donated to the museum in Najaf.

The workshop is organized in collaboration with the Iranian Rudaki Foundation and the Reconstruction Organization of Holy Shrines in Iraq.
