Qatar releases 16 Iranian fishermen from prison

TEHRAN, May 31 (MNA) -- The Iranian ambassador to Qatar has said that sixteen Iranian fishermen who were arrested by the Qatari coast guard in early April for illegally crossing the Iran-Qatar maritime border have been released from prisons in Qatar and returned to their homeland.

Ambassador Abdollah Sohrabi said the decision to free the fisherman was made thanks to the efforts made by the Iranian Embassy in Doha.
