Iranian trio win golds at Asian Grand Prix
TEHRAN, May 31 (MNA) -- Iranian athletes Sajad Moradi, Sajad Hashemi, and Mahmoud Samimi won gold medals at the Asian Grand Prix 2011 Series in Wujiang, China on Sunday.
Runner Sajad Moradi claimed a gold medal in the Men’s 800m with a time of 1:49.27 minutes. India’s Ram Ghamanda won the silver medal clocking 1:49.45 minutes, followed by his compatriot Joseph Sajeesh who clocked 1:49.74 minutes.
Runner Sajad Hashemi snatched a gold medal in the Men’s 400m with a time of 46.55 seconds, followed by Jianxin Chen from China (46.65 seconds), and Prasanna Amarasekara from Sri Lanka (47.03 seconds).
Mahmoud Samimi bagged a gold medal in the Men’s Discus Throw with a throw of 63.21 meters while his brother Mohammad Samimi won the bronze medal with a throw of 62.38 meters. China’s Jian Wu won the silver with a throw of 62.40 meters.
