Doha (QNA) - HE Mnister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud, has asserted that the Darfurians and the stakeholders of the Darfur conference have unanimously endorsed the Doha Document for peace in Darfur as the basis for resolving the problem.
''They have placed their trust in the document which by Allah Will , have become supported and backed by the Darfurians in the first place and by the Afro-Arab Ministerial Committee , the UN , the world community and all our international partners on the other'', said HE Ahmad bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud in a joint press conference held here on Tuesday with HE Djibrill Bassole, the AU-UN Joint Chief Mediator at the end of the expanded Darfur Stakeholders' Conference.
Elaborating HE Al Mahmoud said that he and Djibrill Bassole have met earlier this morning with the representatives of the refugees, the displaced and the civil society in Darfur who expressed complete satisfaction and confirmed their support to the Doha document and its peace content and pledged to jointly act to realize the set goals.
Replying a question by Qatar News Agency (QNA) about the formation of a Darfur Implementation Follow-up committee (IFC) chaired by the State of Qatar to include other International Partners, HE Al Mahmoud said the IFC is among the demands of the darfurians who ask for bringing about a mechanism to implement the accords to be reached and any accord based on this document.
Elaborating HE Al Mahmoud said ,'' a number of big countries have informed us of their desire to join the IFC membership ''... The IFC will work with the African Union ,the United Nations and the Arab League to assist the Parties in reaching and implemebnting an inclusive and comprehensive agreement.
