Hyundai Motor sales rise 13.6 pct in May

SEOUL, June 1 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's leading automaker, said Wednesday its sales in May rose 13.6 percent from a year earlier on strong demand for its vehicles at home and abroad.
Hyundai Motor sold 339,205 vehicles last month, compared with 298,722 cars sold in the same period last year.
Domestic sales surged 17.3 percent to 57,750 units with overseas sales also rising 12.8 percent on-year to 281,455 units, it said.
