S. Korea to chair convention on missile proliferation next year: ministry

SEOUL, June 3 (Yonhap) -- South Korea will chair an international convention regulating the spread of ballistic missiles from 2012-2013, Seoul's foreign ministry said Friday.
The appointment came during the 10th regular meeting on the Hague Code of Conduct against Ballistic Missile Proliferation (HCOC) on Thursday in Austria, the ministry said in a statement.
The HCOC was adopted in 2002 to stem the proliferation of ballistic missiles around the world and has a membership of 132 nations, it said.
